Get all the benefits of Delivery Confirmation™ and more. Signature Confirmation™ gives you an added level of security by requiring a signature from the person who accepts your package.
If you’re sending something important, you may want to be sure that it reaches not just the right address, but the right hands as well. With Signature Confirmation, you can get confirmation of delivery - including date, time and location - and you can request to have a letter faxed or mailed to you with a copy of the recipient’s signature.
Signature Confirmation is available at a retail and electronic fee. Signature Confirmation is currently not available to APO/FPO locations.
FAQS
Can I track my Signature Confirmation mailpiece?
Updates on the delivery status of a Signature Confirmation™ mailpiece may be provided when available. However, delivery status updates are not a feature of the Signature Confirmation service. Signature Confirmation confirms the mailpiece delivery date and time. It does not guarantee delivery by a certain date and time.
Delivery status information is available on the evening of the date of delivery or attempted delivery, similar to our Delivery Confirmation™ service. Delivery status information will remain available for one year after the date of delivery. A complete delivery record, including signature image, can be obtained two to three days after delivery.
How will I receive confirmation of a delivered mailpiece?
If you have selected a delivery confirmation service you can receive your confirmation in a number of ways.
Online: Use the online Track & Confirm service.
Go to the Track & Confirm website
Enter in your label ID and press "Go"
Underneath the "Notification Option" you will see an option for "Track and Confirm by Email", press "Go"
Fill in your name
Select the type of Email notification you would like
There will be two Email notification options. The Email can contain the mailpiece’s current or future delivery status.
Enter up to three different Email addresses (usually the sender of the mailpiece, who has the label ID, selects this information)
Press “Submit”
The Email message will state, "Your package has been delivered by the United States Postal Service"
If you receive a message similar to one of the following, It does not mean that the item has not been mailed:
"No information is available for this item. Please contact the sender."
"There is no record of that item. If it was mailed recently, information may not yet be available. Please try again later."
If the item was mailed recently, it means that no scans have been recorded at the time of your inquiry. Delivery information, if available, is updated nightly. Please call or visit the Web-site at a later time. For additional support related to services that confirm delivery you can:
Call USPS: USPS 800 numbers are available to you. In many cases our automated phone service can provide you with the information you need.
General Information: 1-800-ASK-USPS or (800) 275-8777
Track & Confirm: 1-800-222-1811
TDD/TYY: 1-877-TTY-2HLP or (877) -889-2457
Can I view a signature online for a Signature Confirmation mailpiece?
The actual signature for a Signature Confirmation™ mailpiece cannot be viewed via the Internet. However, you will see who signed for the item via the Internet in a typed text format (e.g., B. SMITH). A response letter containing a copy of the signature image can be faxed, emailed, or mailed upon request.
If there is no signature, signature alternative, or legal mark of the recipient on the United States Postal Service® response letter, make sure that it has been two to three Postal business days after the date of delivery. If so, try your request again as a signature may have been added to the record since your initial inquiry.
Why is there no delivery information available for a Signature Confirmation item?
If there is no delivery information available for your Signature Confirmation™ item, it means that it has not yet received a delivery scan. You should check again later since status information is usually updated every evening.
You can obtain information on your Delivery Confirmation or Signature Confirmation™ mailpiece by using Track & Confirm, or by calling 1-800-222-1811.
How will I receive the delivery status of my Signature Confirmation™ service mailing?
You can obtain the delivery status of your mail item by visiting Track & Confirm online or by calling customer service during regular business hours.
When you call the toll-free number, you will be provided the date and time of delivery or attempted delivery. When you visit the Track & Confirm Web site, you also receive the recipient's first initial and last name along with the delivery ZIP Code.
